Several of us went to interview the outgoing president of the Constitutional Court, Magistrate Mauro Chacón on Thursday afternoon. While discussing the high court’s role in this case, news came of Judge Flores decision to annul the entire judicial process of genocide prosecutions from Nov. 2011 up until the present based on a farfetched interpretation decision of a procedural interlocatory appeal handed down by the CC on April 3rd. Magistrate Chacon was incredulous, he had just rotated down from President of the Court, but the decision was under his term and we hope the CC clarifies this situation asap so as the trial may resume in following weeks.
